From the Diva: Weekly Challenge #155: "A Little White Space"

This challenge was one I was eager to take on.  The Diva asked us to leave some white space in our tangles, and that's something I struggle with sometimes.  I get so wrapped up in tangling that I find myself wanting to fill up every little bit of every space in my string.

I also managed to double this one up as one of my Grateful Zed tangles...because I do love Openness.  Open space in my house, open minds, open doors--all of these appeal to me.

Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied
with the life you're living?
Bob Marley

I used four tangles in this one, with the first letters of the names spelling "OPEN"--lol.  And I wanted to choose patterns that were a little spacey...and try to keep them open and simple, so I went with Oke, Pokeroot, Efilys, and 'NZeppel.  And the string?  Laura's photo of all her boys playing Sorry was my inspiration for the string's shape.

I hope you all have stayed warm this week.  I'm going to go plop on the couch after 2 hours shoveling snow today.  Happy tangling!

  3. Your finished piece is very well done and I like that you chose tangles that had space as well. I think many of us feel the need to cram way too much into our work. It was nice to be "forced" into this :)
